The Hampton Bay Hawkins ceiling fan is a 44-inch fan looks like it was designed specifically to work in those flat low-ceiling bedrooms. This is definitely one of those indoor ceiling fans that uses a newer developed twist-and-lock type installation components. That is, you're not fiddling with those downrods on this one trying to get the right sized downrod so it hangs comfortably at the distance from the ceiling that you prefer. In fact, this ones made for those low ceilings so that it can hug it up close and tight. Perfect fit for those rooms that have 8-foot ceilings, plus the price is right at only around $70.

Hampton Bay 44 Inch Hawkins Ceiling Fan

Speaking of the twist-and-lock feature, what you'll find is that it actually gives the fan a more appealing look than what you'll typically find on traditional hugger type fans. Plus without having to mess with those downrods you should find the installation pretty much a breeze on this one, just don't loose your cool running the pull chains if you are going to install this yourself. It can get a little tricky and you need to make sure the right chains go thru the right holes, but it's not that hard and you can do it. I have done some searching around do see that there has been problems with the pull chains not working. But you can fix that as well if it doesn't work for you simply by removing 3 or 4 of the beads used in the speed pull chain of the Hampton Bay Hawkins ceiling fan inside the housing as that seems to be what everybodies problem has been as to why it wouldn't switch speeds. Haven't ran across that myself, but should work and does from what they all have been saying.

There are some solid plus's with this ceiling fan as well. The rubber wall mount that comes with the fan is a savior in making the fan "wiggle" free. You won't see this fan appearing to wobble at any speed you choose to run it on. Plus it is whisper quiet. If you do hear some noise it's probably because some of the internal wires are rubbing on the motor. Check it before you finish the installation by turning it all on at all of the different speeds. If you still hear a noise, adjust the wiring inside and try it again. You shouldn't hear much of anything on this model.

Now down to the aesthetics. The Hampton Bay Hawkins comes with 5 reversible blades, one side has kind of a distressed look while the other is more of a natural oak. So you can choose which side you'd like and simply install the blades that way. Want a more antiquey look, go with the distressed. Plus it comes with a very visual appealing half bowl light fixture, a Venetian Scavo glass, fancy name for smoked glass if you ask me that gets a little darker at the edges that takes 3x40 watt chandelier type bulbs. There has been quite a few complaints about the lighting on this model but I kinda believe that they've got to be taken with a grain of salt so to speak. Probably the room was to large or ceiling to high, get the fan for what it was designed for, smaller rooms with low ceilings and you probably won't have the lighting issue to deal with. I mean your only using 3x40 watt candelabra type bulbs here so the rooms shouldn't be that big where you are needing light. Oh, and you'll need to buy these lights extra to as they do not come with the fan itself. So if you want light, get some bulbs, and remember all bulbs are not created equal.

Overall this is a great little Hampton Bay fan. If you have the right sized room with low ceilings and want something that's going to look a little bit classy but not too much, maybe something for a guest room or older kids room, this would be a good fan to do the job.

Stylishly designed but yet affordable, Hampton Bay ceiling fans will make you feel like you are living like a king on a pauper's budget. These fans look like they come directly off those expensive showroom floors. With an extensive amount of designs and finishes to fit any room you are sure to find a Hampton Bay that is right for you.

Some of their more popular finishes range from antique copper to pewter, and bronze to brushed nickel. But the design fun doesn't stop there as they started to push the envelope a little further with the blades. Being able to decorate a nature themed room with ceiling fan blades that look like palm leaves or for the more artistic a set of canvas blades could really complete the touch. Of course some models come with the traditional natural wood blades with still others can maintain a contemporary look with the utilization of glass blades. Hampton Bay ceiling fans are well on there way to becoming a household fixture.

Hampton Bay 52 inch Brennero Flemish Pewter Ceiling Fan

But overall they are probably best known as the local brand for your neighborhood Home Depot's. What you probably didn't know about Hampton Bay ceiling fans is that eventhough they are a specifically made item for Home Depot, they are actually manufactured by three main companies(Minka, SMC, and King of fans). Because of that there was a time where you could only get these from their stores. Lucky for us with the advent of the Internet you can now pick these up either directly from Home Depot for full price or be more frugal shopper and do some looking around, you never know what you'll find.

The Hampton Bay line of ceiling fans has made it easy for those special do-it-yourself homeowners. Installation is a breeze with their quick connect system. It will probably take you longer inside Home Depot trying to pick out one of these fans than it will to put up. Don't worry if you have two left thumbs and to lift the(first my apologies to the lefties out there, but it is what it is), these fans will leave your better half more than impressed at your new skills and abilities.

Backed by a solid lifetime warranty there's really no need to worry whether or not you will have problems with your fan, not that you will, but if you do Home Depot does honor the Hampton Bay lifetime warranty. If problems do arise and you're just not up to haggling over a warranty when it's sometimes easier just to fix the little things, there is a plethora of replacement parts available on the market for most all Hampton Bay ceiling fans. You can even contact Hampton Bay directly or appropriate replacement parts for your specific model.

Hampton Bay 14 inch Twin Arc Natural Iron Finish Ceiling Fan

Overall I don't think you can go wrong purchasing a Hampton Bay fan to spruce up that ceiling and room you've been wanting to tackle. There's no need to look any further than Hampton Bay. They are some of the best high quality and trendy ceiling fans on the market today, bar none. They are offered with so many designs to tempt and colors to boot that you are sure to find one to accent any room.

Ceiling fans are most definitely for year-round utilization and with the addition of them in one or more rooms you will see a savings in your monthly electric bills. Ofcourse you'll use them in the summers and hotter months to keep the air circulating and cooler throughout your home. But just because it's winter is no reason to turn the ceiling fans off. They'll actually help heat distribuition throughout your home in those cold winter months.
